Working for more than 20 years as a Registered Dietitian has provided me with great insight into the obstacles, frustrations and confusion people often face when it comes to figuring out how to eat well.
It’s the new norm to be inundated with messages about food, eating and nutrition through social media, endless blogs, internet articles and copious amounts of books that outline the perfect plan for the perfect diet. Add to this the sometimes changing research, manipulative marketing strategies and label claims that take advantage of the latest fad diets, and people are almost always completely overwhelmed and confused about what they actually should be doing. Even worse, they feel defeated when the unrealistic goals they strive for are almost always unattainable.
Having worked with individuals and groups with a multitude of nutrition needs, I have recognized a common thread that is fundamental in successfully helping my clients achieve their health goals. Regardless of age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status or even medical diagnosis, I’ve learned that treating each client individually by looking at their entire picture of health and lifestyle, and establishing a strong connection is vital to the success of whatever type of approach they need to be taking when it comes to food. My expertise allows me to sift through the latest research, fads and books to disseminate information that is clear and based on valid science.
